RogueSpear's XP SP3 Direct Update Addon Lite V3.5.5
Addon (.7z) - 12.1MB
MD5: 1d33e752e7b50ff3b7b2a11a48c31d83

Last Updated: 20100605
Description: This addon contains files which are direct replacements for the original files found in \i386. In this respect it is similar to an "Update Pack" in it's intent and function. Here is what this addon contains:Listing: This addon contains the following files:
Code: Select all
CALC.CHM
CALC.EXE      1.0.0.908
MAKECAB.EXE   6.0.6001.22192
MPLAYER2.EXE  1.3.1976.0
NOTEPAD.EXE   4.1.24.0
USP10.DLL     1.626.6000.20701

Notes: This addon now creates three shortcuts that were previously (and no longer) created by my Standard Installer. Shortcuts for Calculator and Notepad are created in the Accessories folder and a shortcut for Notepad is created in the SendTo folder.

RogueSpear's XP SP3 Direct Update Addon Full V3.5.5
Addon (.7z) - 140MB
MD5: 2f69b859d3dba854fd4e48445af6e2ad

Last Updated: 20100605
Description: This is the same as above but with the addition of more TrueType fonts from Vista and Server 2008. These additional fonts are contained in a 7-Zip archive that is placed in the \OEM directory and is decompressed by the custom presetup.cmd file as found in the ScriptPack or in the Method 2 Helper Addons found directly below.

RogueSpear's Method 2 (w/ KtD) for XP SP3 Helper Addon V8.09
Addon (.7z) - 1.34MB
MD5: 8EC35D9E8F516CC83265DE360CDFBFD0

RogueSpear's Method 2 (No KtD) for XP SP3 Helper Addon V8.09
Addon (.7z) - 1.34MB
MD5: AE9225888E50A2A9E16EBD5125D6FAB2

Last Updated: 20081011
Description: These are addons that will provide Method 2 functionality from the RyanVM Integrator. To the best of my knowledge these are not nLite compatible. Some important points to consider:
  • The KtD that is provided uses the "Paths" method and these are the paths which are defined:
    Code: Select all
    D\3\H\IP;D\3\H\IT;D\3\H\LG;D\3\H\LS;D\3\H\MS1;D\3\H\MS2;D\3\U;D\3\X\AC;D\3\X\AT;D\3\X\AU;D\3\X\C;D\3\X\O;D\3\X\O1;D\3\X\O2;D\3\X\O3;D\3\X\O4;D\3\X\O5;D\3\X\O6;D\3\X\O7;D\3\X\O8;D\3\X\O9;D\3\X\OA;D\3\X\OB;D\3\X\OC;D\3\X\OD;D\3\X\RT;D\3\X\SC;D\3\X\TI;D\3\X\TO;D\3\X\U;D\3\X\WQ
This will likely expand to include more devices which connect via USB and Firewire.
  • There is no mass storage text mode integration. The best you can do here is to use one of my mass storage addons if it's applicable to your environment.
  • This addon uses the awesome PRESETUP.CMD that DumpyDooby made. This provides much more functionality than the stock batch file and is RIS compatible.
  • Because each OS and each SP level contains a unique setup.exe file, there must be a separate addon for each OS/SP.
  • If you want to know exactly how these addons work, then download them, extract them and inspect the contents. Perform a dry run install in a virtual environment. In other words, if you're curious enough to know how they work then check it out for yourself. I don't plan of fielding the inevitable line of questions that can easily be answered through a little self discovery.
Why Bother?: Primarily for RIS compatibility, but also if you don't want all of your DP's filenames changed to 8.3 compliant (along with a text file for each one) and you don't want or need backups made of several system files. There are some definitive downsides to using these addons instead of BASE itself and these are certainly not going to be everybody's cup of tea. But for those like me, particularly those who manage RIS deployments, they make life much easier.

Support DriverPacks.net: If you find these addons to be helpful and use them in your installations, then I would ask that you consider making a donation to the DriverPack.net project.

RogueSpear's ScriptPack Compatibility Addon V1.5.1.0
RyanVM Integrator Addon (.7z) - 210KB
MD5: 1F2AFC0155AFD164A8A1AE23BA015AAB

Last Updated: 20081011
Description: If the full ScriptPack is something that you're not interested in, but you've wanted to use my ScriptPack Addons, then this is for you. This addon will drop a custom cmdlines.txt file and my cmdlines.vbs file into \$OEM$. It will also add a cut down version of the 500_Settings.ini file to \OEM. And finally, 7za.exe (v4.60) will be added to \i386 where it will end up in %SystemRoot%\system32. If you'd like to add some RunOnceEx installers or commands that aren't covered by a ScriptPack Addon, you can edit the 500_Settings.ini file. For more information on how the cmdlines.vbs script operates please refer to the ScriptPack thread.

RogueSpear's IaStor MassStorage Addon V8.5.0.1032
RyanVM Integrator Addon (.7z) - 313KB
MD5: 20013F6A305B5802A4D2BF951FCF841C

Last Updated: 20081011
Description: This addon, when used with one of the above M2 Helper addons, is a complete solution for adding support for the latest Intel SATA controllers. This must not be used if you also implement mass storage text mode support using DriverPacks BASE. It is recommended that you not include the DP Mass Storage file in your source.
Notes: I have been using this addon successfully with Dell OptiPlex 755 desktops.

RogueSpear's IaStor MassStorage Addon V8.9.0.1023
RyanVM Integrator Addon (.7z) - 320KB
MD5: 3a36ae4e9d32d645c4eca800cde8bc56

Last Updated: 20100605
Description: This addon combines the support from the Intel mass storage addons posted directly above (v8.5) and directly below (v9.5). I've tested this addon successfully with Dell OptiPlex 755 desktops that I used to use the v8.5 addon with and with brand new Dell Vostro desktops that until I made this addon, required the v9.5 addon. So one mass storage addon now seems to address all of the Intel SATA controllers out there (for now).
Notes: I am leaving the two other Intel mass storage addons posted here in the event that someone discovers that this one does not work for them.

RogueSpear's IaStor MassStorage Addon V9.5.0.1037
RyanVM Integrator Addon (.7z) - 406KB
MD5: 3a36ae4e9d32d645c4eca800cde8bc56

Last Updated: 20100403
Description: This addon cannot cannot cannot be used with the v8.5 addon above it. I'm going to attempt to make an addon that will support both chipsets, but I will need someone else to do some testing for me.
Notes: I have been using this addon successfully with 2010 Dell Vostro desktops.

RogueSpear's VIA VRAID MassStorage Addon V5.1.6000.562
RyanVM Integrator Addon (.7z) - 56KB
MD5: 656E131AA658AF7CED2BABE11E2CCB37

Last Updated: 20080127
Description: This addon will provide text mode support for VIA VRAID controllers. This must not be used if you also implement mass storage text mode support using DriverPacks BASE, however a Method 2 DriverPack integration with DP Mass Storage is required.
Notes: At the time of this posting, this addon has not been tested. I don't have any VIA hardware myself and made this as a special request. If you have positive results with it, please let me know.

20070909 - Updated to v1.0.5

For some reason my entries.ini file was attempting to make an entry in sysoc.inf when in fact it shouldn't make one at all.

20071128 - Updated the Update Addon to V1.08
  • Updated Media Player Classic to v6.4.9.1 [20071015]
  • Removed the Microsoft Debugging Tools
  • Removed the updated MSADO15.DLL
  • Removed the updated MSJET40.DLL

It took me a day to figure this problem out. I had two separate applications fail on recently installed machines. One was client software from Dictaphone's long defunct Freedom digital recording system. The other is a proprietary application developed under Borland Builder (C++). The former is around 6 years old while the latter is very typical of software developed by a governmental agency here in the US (in other words it's complete junk). The point is that I found that MSADO15.DLL and MSJET40.DLL were the cause of the failures. It's odd since I also manage software that interfaces with automatic defribulators. That software utilizes the same system components and works just fine. Go figure.

Anyway this entire incident coupled with my increasingly conservative nature as I get older has led me to strip out not only those .DLL files, but the MS debugging tools as well. So far I've had nothing but positive results with the remaining files.

hello, i hope this isnt a silly question but is there a way to only use media player classic from your Addon Collection? reason why i'm asking is because i would like to integrate your quick time alternative + real alternative, but i see in your notes that "This installer does not include Media Player Classic and has been specially made to look for it at %PROGRAMFILES%\Windows Media Player\mplayer2.exe. My Update Addon will replace the default mplayer2.exe with Media Player Classic."

i tried to search and see if you had made a standalone media player classic, but i couldnt find one.

I haven't made an addon that is only MPC. I'm fairly certain that there is one or more such addons over at RyanVM's Forums however. As far as my addon goes, it's pretty much all or nothing and I don't plan on releasing and supporting an MPC only addon. It's just one more thing I would have to maintain and it's an addon that I wouldn't personally have any use for.

well i understand that, but your quicktime and realalternative addons are pretty tied to that media playerclassic, isnt it? and as far as i know, you are also the only person that i've found thats made addons for qt lite and r.a

if i could find other alternative to qt/ra then i could also probably find one for mpc as well. but so far, yours are the only ones i've come across. so theres my problem
