Please read the user manual. If you are new or relatively new to unattended installations, please take the time to visit and read The MSFN Unattended Installation Guide.

Microsoft .NET Framework V2.0 is required.

Change Log

Version 0.1.9.8 - 01/27/2008
  • New - The "Installers" tab now has an Arguments column. This is for compatiblity with "multimode" installers. If a multimode installer is detected it will be assigned a default argument of -ai. The saved .ini file can be manually edited to change the argument to something else such as -ai1.
  • New - Support for "Optimize System Files" and "Use Cached driver.cab" options that were introduced in the integrator v1.5. A version check of the integrator exe is performed so that these new options are only enabled when v1.5 or > is selected.
  • Fixed - Crash when Merge RVM .ini file or Merge DP BASE .ini fileis selected.
  • Fixed - MCE2005 sources were unable to select a service pack to slipstream.
  • Fixed - The default mkisofs switches have been changed and is now generating fully working/bootable images. Thanks to forum member dredwing for the suggestion on the switches.
  • Changed - The file open dialogs for RyanVM Update Packs and Addons allow for more file extensions/types.
  • Changed - The order of processing has changed for integrating using selected WINNT.SIF files so that integration takes place near the eginning, just before RyanVM integration.
  • Changed - Removed support for the integrator option "Convert unicode to ANSI" as it is no longer supported.
  • Changed - The option to convert all files to uppercase will perform the conversion at the start and at the end of processing. This option is now enabled by default and it is recommended that it stayed enabled. This is necessary to overcome a problem with the way that v1.5 of the RVM integrator processes images.
  • Changed - The AutoImage_Shared.dll file is no longer needed and can be deleted from existing installations.
  • Updated - ScriptPack support has been updated to include previously missing entries and entries indroduced with ScriptPack v1.0.7
  • Updated - Cablib updated to v8.1

Known Issues
  • Any changes made by the DriverPacks BASE utility to WINNT.SIF will be disregarded. If you have your .SIF file properly configured ahead of time this will not be an issue.
  • If you attempt to work with a RIS server that you are not already authenticated to, AutoImage will crash.

Notes
Tested successfully with the following:
  • RyanVM Integrator v1.4.3
  • RyanVM Integrator v1.5RC3 (if the option to convert files to uppercase is enabled)
  • WMP11Slipstreamer v0.96
  • nLite v1.4.1

Postby RogueSpear » Sun Jul 30, 2006 1:34 pm

Version 0.1.1.0 - 07/11/2006
  • New - Implemented the ability to integrate XPize via RunOnceEx in addition to direct source integration. This new option requires ScriptPack integration.
  • New - Several new features and fixes in the ScriptPack. See ScriptPack v1.03 change log.
  • Fixed - The alternate presetup.cmd had some missing lines. Changed the tag file to be "WIN51" for compatibility with all versions of Windows XP and Windows Server 2003.
  • Fixed - Several ScriptPack options were not saving and / or loading properly from user settings file.
  • Fixed - All DriverPacks files should now be properly located regardless of whether the image is disc or RIS based.
  • Changed - For RIS installations, the $OEM$ directory is now only backed up and no longer copied down for processing.

Version 0.1.2.0 - 07/12/2006

Postby RogueSpear » Sun Jul 30, 2006 1:35 pm

Version 0.1.2.0 - 07/12/2006
  • Fixed - If you enabled XPize RunOnceEx integration and then later disabled it, the RunOnceEx entries in the ScriptPack were not cleared out.
  • Fixed - Directory path error resulting in a crash with a DriverPacks Method 1 slipstream fixed.
  • Change - When a DriverPacks integration is done on a RIS image, WINNT.SIF is deleted from \i386.
  • Known Issue - If you do a DriverPacks Method 1 integration and you select an unattended answer file to integrate, the unattended answer file will overwrite the one created by the BASE slipstreamer and you will not have the OemPnPDriversPath entry.
  • Known Issue - A DriverPacks Method 1 integration with a RIS image will not properly work because the transfer of OemPnPDriversPath from the BASE generated WINNT.SIF to a RIS template file has not been implemented (just thought about that now).

Postby RogueSpear » Sun Jul 30, 2006 1:38 pm

Version 0.1.5.0 - 07/18/2006
  • Changed - In an effort to troubleshoot RIS images generated under Windows 2003 Server, .OSC file compression is turned off, .EXE files that are compressed in preparation for RVM, nLite, BTS are decompressed prior to moving the image back to the server.
Fix - The Basic Removal options are now called towards the end of processing. This is to prevent the possibility of removing something that would later be updated by an Update Pack.
Fix - Error handling now provided in the event source files for creating an .ISO file come from a read-only source.
Fix - Several cosmetic fixes in the Overview page.

Version 0.1.6.0 - 07/19/2006

Postby RogueSpear » Sun Jul 30, 2006 1:39 pm

Version 0.1.6.0 - 07/19/2006
  • Fixed - After a good deal of testing with Windows 2003 Server, hopefully all 2003 issues have been resolved.
  • Fixed - Fully implemented the new WPI plugin for the RyanVM Integrator V1.4.
  • Fixed - If your settings file indicated that the DriverPacks should be integrated, then upon loading the settings file AutoImage could not find the BASE slipstreamer, the option was checked but grayed out so that it was not possible to deselect DriverPack integration.
  • Experimental - AutoImage will attempt to detect if a target RIS server is Windows 2000 or Windows 2003. If determined to be 2003, AutoImage will by default select the option to decompress files after processing has finished.

Version 0.1.7.0 - 07/21/2006
  • New - XPize now has a summary section in the log file.
  • New - The WPI Plugin mode is now reported in the log file.
  • Changed - Slight cosmetic adjustment to the overview table.
  • Changed - "Decompress Files After Processing" is now checked by default.
  • Changed - Server OS detection has been removed for RIS installations.
  • Changed - "Keep ristndrd.sif" is now checked by default. If "Integrate New Templates" is not checked then "Keep ristndrd.sif" is force checked.
  • Changed - The option "Use Alternate Presetup.cmd" has been removed. Whenever a Method 2 integration is done, the alternate presetup.cmd will replace the default version used by the BASE slipstreamer. It is fully compatible with both disc and RIS based installs and it has functionality required to decompress 000_SR*.7z and 000_SD*.7z.
  • Changed - 7z.exe is no longer included in the distribution as it is now included with the RyanVM Integrator, nLite, and the DriverPacks BASE.
  • Fixed - An .ISO filename with spaces would prevent .ISO file creation.
  • Fixed - The .ini AutoImage generated for the RyanVM Integrator had been based upon the filename of the AutoImage user settings .ini file. If the AutoImage user settings .ini file had any spaces in it, the Integrator would hang. The Integrator .ini file is now set to a static value of "AutoImage-RVM.ini". To remain consistent through the program, the .ini file for the DriverPacks BASE has been set to a static value of "AutoImage-BTS.ini".
  • Fixed - If a directory was selected in the Basic Removal section, and that directory was subsequently removed by either nLite or the RyanVM Integrator, AutoImage erroneously reported that it had deleted the directory when in fact the directory was already deleted by another process.
  • Fixed - When loading a user setting .ini file for a disc based image, if a service pack was selected to be slipstreamed it was not taken into account when generating the suggested volume label for an .ISO file.
  • Fixed - A check has been implemented to verify the existence of the selected RyanVM Update Pack before generating an MD5 sum in the log file summary.

Version 0.1.7.1 - 07/21/2006
  • Fixed - For RIS preparations, the integration of NIC drivers has been moved to where it had originally been which is much earlier in the process. This should eliminate duplicate files where there is a compressed and uncompressed version of the .SYS file for a given NIC driver.

Version 0.1.7.2 - 07/30/2006

Postby RogueSpear » Sun Jul 30, 2006 1:44 pm

Version 0.1.7.2 - 07/30/2006
  • Changed - The generated presetup.cmd has been changed to support method 2 integrations with DriverPacks BASE 6.07 and greater. At this time, BASE 6.07 is currently in beta testing, so if you do not have access to that you will have to wait a short time.
  • Fixed - A bug where some files in the user defined RunOnceEx settings in the cmdlines.vbs script were not copied over to the destination.
  • Fixed - A bug in the CopySource script that prevented it from working at all. Amazingly, there was not one post regarding this bug considering it's been downloaded a few thousand times.
  • New - Implemented e-mail notification in the ScriptPack. This will be fully documented in the soon to be released update of the ScriptPack stand alone package.

Version 0.1.8.0

Postby RogueSpear » Tue Aug 08, 2006 9:45 am

Version 0.1.8.0 - 08/08/2006
  • Changed - The automatically generated presetup.cmd has been tweaked a little bit more and should be completely functional with the new DriverPacks BASE unless there are further changes to the DriverPacks project.
  • Changed - For RIS image processing, the backup location has been changed. Previously backups were stored in parallel directories to the working image. They are now stored off of the reminst share - ex: \\servername\reminst\Backup\<imagename>\i386. Please see this thread for instructions if you are updating from a previous version of AutoImage.
  • Changed - When making the backup of a RIS image, AutoImage will now delete all .PNF and .OS_ files from the original source. These are deleted every time you run AutoImage against a RIS image anyway, so this will save some time by not downloading over 1,000 files, then immediately deleting them.
  • Changed - You can now select specific template files to integrate into your RIS image rather than AutoImage automatically copying all .SIF files that do not have WINNT* in the filename.
  • Fixed - Integration of a user selected WINNT.SIF file or user selected templates for RIS will now always happen after a DriverPack integration. This way all of the DriverPack modifications to WINNT.SIF can be merged into the user selected files.
  • Fixed - Crashes related to the lists of RVM Addons and Installers has been fixed.
  • Fixed - Crash when AutoImage would attempt to delete the LANG directory.
  • Fixed - When an .ini file was loaded and then a different .ini file after that, some of the settings from the first file were still set. Almost all controls and options are now refreshed when a new configuration file is loaded. The exptions are AutoImage.ini file settings since they are application level and the settings for individual scripts in the ScriptPack.
  • Updated - ScriptPack components now at V1.04. See the ScriptPack change log for full details.
  • Updated - Marvell Yukon driver from V8.51.5.3 [03/15/2006] to V8.56.4.3 [07/06/2006]
  • Updated - Realtek RTL8139/810x/8169(S/SB)/8110(S/SB) driver from V5.639 [01/18/2006] to V5.649 [07/19/2006]

Version 0.1.8.1

Postby RogueSpear » Thu Aug 31, 2006 11:11 am

Version 0.1.8.1 - 08/31/2006
  • Changed - When the RyanVM Integrator is called, the path to the Integrator .ini file is no longer passed. This was done to try to resolve runtime crashes possibly caused by spaces in the path. AutoImage always creates the .ini file in the directory that the Integrator executable resides in, so this should not present any problems.
  • Fixed - The down arrow control to change the order of Addon Packs was not working properly.
  • Fixed - The AutoImage generated .ini file for the DriverPacks was incorrectly writing "All" instead of "Select".
  • Fixed - A crash would result if AutoImage was unable to restart the BINL service. An error trap with feedback was implemented.

  • New - Support for the new KTD Cache Location option in the DriverPacks BASE.
  • Changed - The KTD script has been dropped from 090 to 080. This will allow for the DriverPacks Finisher to run at 090. The KTD script has also been modified to be compatible with the new finisher.
  • Changed - A new default is provided for using the "Patterns" option with the DriverPacks.
  • Fixed - Numerous interface issues with the DriverPacks.
