I have a SysInternals installer that I've been maintaining for years now. Pity I can't put it up here because of their eula :( This is only one example of why I prefer open source. Anyway, I did see his utility and am checking it out. One of the reasons I will likely stick with things as they are is because of how I have the shortcuts created. I like having the majority of them out of noobs way in Administrative Tools. And it's nice to be able to sit down at any of the 100 or so workstations I manage and just get to work by going there for all of my utilities.

Another open sauce plug - if all of the NirSoft utilities were open, I'd be tempted to consolidate some of them into larger tools. For instance, all of the IE, Mozilla, Chrome, Opera utilities all into one. Stuff like that.

This is a program that I use personally, but I'm not sure if the author is cool with people distributing it. It's free to use without limits, but it will nag you to obtain a license (which is free) from their website, the idea being that they just want people to visit their site where they can try to convince their users to donate, but donation isn't required for a license nor for any usage.

http://www.donationcoder.com/Software/M ... index.html

It gives you a list of all of the sites to which you're connected.

In my experience, nothing at donationcoder has a favorable eula. It's been well over a year since I've been there so I don't know if things have changed, but last I was there was too look for a screenshot utility. The one I found had all sorts of "you may not" and "it is forbidden" all over the place.

Re: RogueSpear's Standard Installer V6.1.1

I found an inconvenience (not a bug) with your standard installer v6.1.1 where the DriverPacks Finisher .log (dpsfnshr.log) is being deleted from %systemroot% on first boot by the aggressive cleaning settings by ccleaner.
So now I have to use the option of copying the .log to another location at ROE or try to overwrite the default ccleaner settings with my own at ROE to prevent the accidental deletion.
Just thought I'd pass on my discovery.
Hope this gets fixed in a future version, but if not then I'll use my workaround.
Keep up the good work RogueSpear!

I just uploaded v6.2.0, but in 6.2.1 what I'm likely to do is eliminate the ccleaner.ini file completely and that ought to solve the issue.

Thanks to that post, I learned what "Remove Fake Antivirus" is (well, the name is self-explanatory, but I had never heard of it before). I never noticed you mention it before that. You just kinda snuck it in there. Glad I noticed it, though, because I was able to recommend it to a buddy that just got one of those rogue antivirus programs on his computer. (he got it through Chrome, or perhaps a plug-in) Worked like a charm.

I'm finally raising the white flag of surrender to all of the incompetent snake oil selling anti-virus vendors out there. None of them are even remotely effective at actually detecting real threats, but somehow they all seem to think the browser meta-data retrieval utilities from NirSoft warrant a hit. Well I'm sick of adding one exception after the next to all of my workstations, so as noted above many of those utilities are moving to the Power User installer.

Nice! I'll test this out very soon. I'm sure deleting the ccleaner.ini will solve my problem.

I hate to say this, but it may not without a little intervention on your part. The registry entry in HKCU\blah blah\Run is still in this installer. A possible workaround is to import your own registry entries from cmdlines.txt that removes that particular entry.
